Amateur Radio
Radio frequency communication workshop program (activities and practices) were held on 29 March 2017. The program is the brainchild of the lecturers of the Centre for Communication Engineering Studies (CeCES). A total of 30 participants was involved. The participants are from the students of semester 6 EE241 (Communication). The objective of this program is to give exposure to the students about amateur radio.
The program is run for 3 hours starting at 2 PM until 5 PM. The briefing started with opening remarks from Prof.Madya.Dr. Mohd Ali Tarmizi, Head of the Antenna Research Centre (ARC). After that, the program continued with a briefing on the agenda of the Radio Amateur Telecommunications. During the briefing given by guest speaker Dr Ahmad Azlan Ab.Aziz, a council member of Malaysian Amateur Radio Transmitter's Society (MARTS). He also showed some practical examples. This reinforces students' understanding of the topics discussed.
